Consistent time on the mat
No one learnt to ride a bike by reading a book.
I’ve recently started a martial art called Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It’s a second attempt. It’s easy for me to blame covid for stopping the first attempt but it’s just an excuse.
I have one simple goal, to spend time on the mat three times a week. Simply to turn up. If I turn up, I’ve been successful.
It’s the same with writing, learning, exercising. Turning up is 90% of the battle. If you’ve got a run planned at 5am, if you turn up you’ve won.
All the spreadsheets, planning, youtube videos, coaching, reading is all for nothing if you don’t put on your shoes, get on the bike, put on your gi or start typing.
